Overview:

France is slightly less than twice the size of Colorado and located a little farther north. It is the largest country in western Europe, extending 965 km from its northern border with Belgium to Spain in the south. At its widest, France measures approximately 935 km from the Bay of Biscay (part of the Atlantic Ocean) in the west to the German/Swiss/Italian borders in the east. The capital of France is the lovely city of Paris.  Out of the 59 million people living in France, 13 million live in and around Paris.  France is blessed with a wide range of geography. The south and southwest contain large mountain ranges. The second highest mountain in Europe (Mont Blanc at 4807m) is located in the Alps at the border with Switzerland and Italy.  The north and west contain many rolling plains.

The French culture has made a lasting impact on the world.  From the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries, France dominated the cultural achievements of the West.  Its wealth enabled the increase in style and art, producing many famous artisans.  France has also become world famous for its wines and is the world's leading producer.

What We Are Doing Here:

We are helping to bring together several French-speaking Christian organizations that are interested in distance learning. We are seeking to establish a network of groups that can work together to develop and implement courses throughout the French-speaking world. We have developed a partnership with the Geneva Bible Institute to implement distance learning courses in the French language. These courses will be used throughout the entire French-speaking world.
