It is amazing to see how the Lord has brought together people with a wide variety of skills. As you place your mouse over each of those who are listed below, you can learn more about how they believe their gifts are being used to help build the church in Europe!

The fields are ripe and God has provided us with new tools for the harvest.
Technology can sometimes allow us to do God's work smarter, cheaper, and faster. But more importantly it can also help us touch people's lives in a personal way by breaking down barriers and letting God work. It's a joy to see what God can do and a privilege to help. Andrew Web Master
I have known God was calling me to missions since I was in high school but, having a passion for technology and computers, I didn't know how He was going to use me. eDOT was the answer.
Growing up, I always thought that missionaries were preachers or civil engineers or doctors, not computer specialists like me. The reality is that God gives all types of gifts and He uses them in any way He pleases. For me, it is awesome to see that God can use my computer skills not just to create technology, but to use that technology to reach people on a personal level for Him. Courtney Systems Analyst
Computer and Internet usage are rapidly expanding in eastern Europe. We are excited to utilize this explosion of technology to facilitate both the growth of the church and individual's knowledge of Christ.
I am excited to see the church moving forward in utilizing the Internet and computers to further the work of God's kingdom. It is essential that we reach youth with the familiar tools of their generation, computers. My experience in Ukraine and Bulgaria only enhances my desire to see computer-based biblical training expand in eastern Europe. We desperately need experts in computers, as well as supporters, to reach eastern Europe for Christ through technology. A pastor in Ukraine, who has no formal biblical training, leads a church in the midst of a harvest field of 10,000 people. His hunger is to see a computer training lab in his church, which will enable this church to offer evangelistic courses in computer training to the local community, in addition to the Bible and theology courses available for the church's members. In his eagerness to obtain computer-based training, the pastor offered to give up his own office, so that there would be room for a computer lab. Most teenagers love technology! Therefore, computers are an excellent way to reach teens for Christ.
Technology provides us with a new and exciting way to reach today's teenagers for Christ. In addition to using computers as evangelistic tools, churches are able to offer computer-based discipleship courses to help teens grow in their knowledge and relationship with Christ. Debbie Youth Ministry
Even though I'm not a technical person, I'm excited to be working with eDOT because it offers a platform on which my gifts can be used to further God's kingdom in Europe!
In addition to my responsibilities as a wife, mother, and homemaker, God has opened up opportunities to help further His kingdom through the ministry of eDOT. I find that my gifts of administration and helps have a platform in which to operate. And being on the cutting edge of current technology I find a platform for thinking creatively, “outside the box,” which is exciting! One of my main goals will be to help partners be involved with our ministry through prayer, for Jesus said, “Apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:4). Debbie Connect! It is exciting to be able to take ministry training out to where promising young church leaders live and minister.
Their need for training is great, but many of them will never be able to leave their jobs and churches to attend a Bible institute. Since 1998 I have been involved in GEM's Distance Learning Project (now called eDOT). I am currently designing and developing English-based ministry training courses, and helping to adapt those courses for translation and use in Europe. It has been such a blessing and privilege to see God use my background as an editor and my administrative gifts to advance His kingdom throughout Europe and the regions it influences.
God has given me a heart for equipping national believers, and eDOT is focused on that. Through distance learning, God is taking the training to those who can't leave their ministries, families, and work to attend a residential Bible college or seminary. It's exciting to see God use new technologies to provide the church on this post-Christian continent with solid biblical training and to provide creative outreach tools to assist churches throughout Europe in fulfilling the Great Commission. Its been thrilling to be able to use my programming skills to help further God's kingdom in Europe. My calling is not in the Home Office, but on the front lines. Serving with eDOT allows me to do just that.
My first major project was to help in the conversion of several Moody Bible Institute courses. They are being converted from English distance learning Internet format into self-contained courses on CDs in various languages. These CDs will be used in eLearning Centers throughout Europe and will allow attainable Bible training for those who are being called into the pastorate. These young men are not able to afford the time or money to attend Bible institutes several hours away. Jim Computer Programmer
God has placed on my heart a passion and desire to be a part of a ministry in eastern Europe. I'm excited that I now have the opportunity to use my skills and interests in IT technologies to serve in eastern Europe with the eDOT ministry.
It will be thrilling to be a part of this ministry that is using the technologies of today as a tool to growing His church in eastern and western Europe. Technology can be an effective tool to increase access where there are financial, cultural, and political barriers. And the eDOT technologies are helping to overcome these barriers. It has been a privilege to see God using my teaching and administrative gifts to build up the church on a Europe-wide scale through the use of technology.
The church is central to God's program. My desire is to make resources available to the church for discipleship, outreach, and training. Through computer technology and the ministry of eDOT, we are able to take resources directly to pastors and Christian workers within their context of life, work, and ministry. Larry Teacher
Christians have often been at the back of the line when it comes to technology, but eDOT is quickly proving that this need not be the case.
Growing up with a computer-geek father, I knew a lot about the inner workings of computers at a very young age. Many years later, when seeking a major at a Christian college, I was eager to make computer science my career. Being that computer science is a large field, I sought an internship that introduced me to the wonderful world of the Internet and thus began a lifelong (at least so far) love affair with Web development. Through a series of disappointing jobs, I realized that using the Internet to build up the body of Christ was so much more rewarding than building an online empire. Thus began my search for a mission agency with which to collaborate. When my husband and I stumbled upon GEM's Web site, we knew that we had come to the end of our quest which began a whole new journey. I are very excited to have the opportunity to use my years of experience using the Internet for evangelism to help the church in Europe.
I have had success in developing Blogs to reach thousands of people each day in English. I can now use that knowledge in helping ministries across Europe to reach their language groups for Christ. I had a hard time deciding where I wanted to go with my life, so I got into the travel industry! Who would have thought that God would provide me with skills in the travel industry that I could use to serve Him in a technology ministry?
But He did. Over the past 20 years, God has prepared me with experience in areas such as account management, project management, seminar presentations, and a familiarity with a wide array of computer software. Additionally, long before I knew the Lord, He provided me with the opportunity to live in Germany, travel throughout Europe, and learn German. Now He has sent me back to Germany to work with a technology ministry and use the skills and gifts He has given me to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the European people.
