I'm grateful for the technical skills that God has allowed me to develop through my years of Internet application development as a vocation. It has been really exciting to be able to see Him use those same skills for His glory.
Like many in IT, I began working with computers indirectly and, along the way, God has provided opportunities to always further develop my technical skills and experience. I have always felt there was a reason that God was putting these opportunities in my path and prayed that He might allow me to use those same skills to serve Him. It has been an honor to do just that and be able to see God using technology to have such an effective impact by equipping pastors and churches and providing for training and ministry that would otherwise not exist. God has used my computer skills to install computer centers in Ukraine and to train the nationals how to use them. This has been the best year of my life.
Before I retired, I was wondering what there would be to life after work. God opened a door and made it so clear that I was to go to Ukraine and install computer centers. He provided training that I shouldn't have had. He made it possible for me to give my testimony in Russian. He provided the money that was needed. But most of all He allowed me to see His church in the world and to meet and develop friendships that I would never have dreamed possible. We do have an awesome God. Carolyn Unix/Linux Specialist
I am excited about being involved with eDOT because of my background in pastoral ministry and Internet programming.
I desire to help with teaching philosophy at Zaporozhye Bible College and working on the Moody Internet courses and the eDot Web site. Maybe some day I can learn enough Russian to be a mentor in the distance learning. A couple years ago we felt that the Lord had led our family to the mission field, but it didn't work out. I am excited about doing ministry through short-term trips and the Internet, especially in Ukraine. David Web Programmer

For my part, I'm happy that my temporal skills and talents can be used to minister to others and have an eternal impact. I belief God wants to use my experience and passion for Microsoft technology to build a framework for the future. I have a personal vision for using software to connect people to Jesus Christ. I plan to continue working with eDOT, GEM, and other organizations to realize this vision. For using my talents in this way, I hope to hear Jesus say, "Well done, good and faithful slave! Since retirement we have enjoyed donating our time and energy to eDOT.
We are happy to serve wherever needed...in classroom instruction of computers, individual tutoring, assisting in the writing of computers manuals, and teaching English as a Foreign Language. It's amazing to realize that God can use anyone, anywhere, to do anything for Him.
When we understand that He has given each of us skills and talents to use for His service, it then becomes just a matter of being available to be used. I'm a geek for God. When I think of professionals on the mission field, I usually picture doctors, teachers, and translators, not engineers and software developers wielding HTML, XML, and PHP.
It has been an amazing experience working with eDOT - to apply my experience with computers and software development for the mission field, and to see technology enabling people to learn and connect in new ways. God really can use all of us for His purpose. Ken Software Developer
Technology has dramatically increased productivity in the working world. It is time to use technology to increase productivity for our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord has brought me from a background that relies on using new technology to keep productivity up, to an engineering school that is always diving into new technology, to a job where we are using cutting-edge technology to make power substations more efficient. It is time that we apply it to our work for our Lord Jesus Christ. I once heard a story of how a missionary was so frugal with money that he opted to travel by canoe for week to reach a village rather then to fly in.
