"Since retirement I have enjoyed donating my time and energy to a variety of GEM and eDOT short term mission trips. It was a pleasure for me to be involved in: classroom instruction of computers , individual tutoring and instruction, assisting in the writing of computer manuals, Teaching English as a Foreign Language and assisting in library projects. I know that I will be blessed by reading and working with the content of the Moodle courses. An important aspect for me is praying for the various projects and team members."

"Growing up, I always thought that missionaries were preachers or civil engineers or doctors, not computer specialists like me. The reality is that God gives all types of gifts and He uses them in any way He pleases. For me, it is awesome to see that God can use my computer skills not just to create technology, but to use that technology to reach people on a personal level for Him."

"I am excited to see the church moving forward in utilizing the Internet and computers to further the work of God's Kingdom. It is essential that we reach youth with the familiar tools of their generation - computers. My experience in Ukraine and Bulgaria only enhances my desire to see computer-based Biblical training expand in Eastern Europe. We desperately need experts in computers, as well as supporters, to reach Eastern Europe for Christ through technology. A pastor in Ukraine, who has no formal Biblical training, leads a church in the midst of a harvest field of 10,000 people. His hunger is to see a computer training lab in his church, which will enable his church to offer evangelistic courses in computer training to the local community, in addition to the Bible and theology courses available for the church's members. In his eagerness to obtain computer-based training, the pastor offered to give up his own office so that there would be room for a computer lab. We need your computer expertise and support to make his dream a reality."

"Their need for training is great, but many of them will never be able to leave their jobs and churches to attend a Bible institute. Since 1998 I have been involved in GEM's Distance Learning Project (now called eDOT). I am currently designing and developing English-based ministry training courses, and helping to adapt those courses for translation and use in Europe. My eight years of experience teaching at a Bible institute in Spain have helped me understand the needs in Europe for Bible training."

"There is such a need for people to come to know Jesus personally and then to get to know Him better and better. I taught Bible at a Christian college in the USA for ten years before coming into missions 26 years ago. God brought me and my family to Europe to assist the church of Europe in reaching and discipling the people of Europe. The methods the past two centuries used to accomplish this goal are not working well any longer, however. So we have to find new ways to reach and teach Europeans. Being part of eDOT enables me to develop these new ways with Europeans, fellow missionaries, and collaborators all over the world."

"I like to think of technology as a force multiplier. By that, I mean we can do much more with technology than without it. Because of my focus on technology I can sometimes forget that people, and their relationships to God, are what's really important. Nevertheless, I am thankful God has given us technology so we can more easily reach so many more people."

"I have worked with eDOT for the last 2 years. I am involved with software training and developing software manuals. I also give individual computer training, as needed, and I am currently working on modifying existing bible courses into interactive computer online classes. I am so thankful for this ministry opportunity that God has opened up to me. I have been incredibly blessed by everyone I have worked with."

"Growing up with a computer-geek father, I knew a lot about the inner workings of computers at a very young age. Many years later, when seeking a major at a Christian college, I was eager to make computer science my career. Being that computer science is a large field, I sought an internship that introduced me to the wonderful world of the Internet and thus began a lifelong (at least so far) love affair with web development. Through a series of disappointing jobs, I realized that using the Internet to build up the body of Christ was so much more rewarding than building an online empire. Thus began my search for a mission agency with which to collaborate. When my husband and I stumbled upon GEM's website, we knew that we had come to the end of our quest which began a whole new journey. We are eager as we look forward to how the Lord will use us in building His body in Europe."

"The church is central to God's program. My desire is to make resources available to the church for discipleship, outreach, and training. Through computer technology and the ministry of eDOT, we are able to take resources directly to pastors and Christian workers within their context of life, work, and ministry."

"After serving God as an engineer for 20 years, God brought me to the mission field in 2001. It has been exciting to see how God is using the skills that I learned over those years in project management, implementing technology in different cultures, and management to further His kingdom in Europe. God has brought together a tremendous group of skilled people to use technology to build His church in Europe."

"When I heard about the new division of GEM, called eDOT, and that they did outreach via teaching computers to adults I felt like 'I could do that!'. I have been interested in missions, but had never felt called to go – usually they wanted someone for construction or sewing!! Since I teach adult computer courses, this sounded like a great fit for me. I contacted eDOT, developed a course for them and finally decided to join a short-term mission team to Kiev, Ukraine. I am very impressed with how intentional eDOT is in their outreach. I also spent time at the eDOT office in Germany working on some editing of a Bible Course and some work in Moodle updating links in a Russian Bible Course. I believe the Lord uses the gifts and interests that He gives us, and this is one way I can serve Him."

"Over the past 20 years, God has prepared me with experience in areas such as account management, project management, seminar presentations, and a familiarity with a wide array of computer software. Additionally, long before I knew the Lord, He provided me with the opportunity to live in Germany, travel throughout Europe, and learn German. Now He has sent me back to Germany to work with a technology ministry and use the skills and gifts He has given me to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the European people."
