 Careers, Computers...and Christ

Natasha is an able-bodied, middle-aged Ukrainian woman who had an unusual job as a welder.  Due to a work-related injury Natasha had been laid off, and she realized that she needed retraining for a new career.
Last year, Natasha's teenage daughter told her of new computer courses being offered at the eLearning Center near a local church in their town of Zaporozhye, Ukraine.  In her search for a new occupation she decided to take an introductory computer course and found the exercises challenging and complicated.  While for some computer users the commands Copy and Paste might seem simple, they were difficult for someone who had just learned how to manipulate a mouse!
Natasha completed the first part of the exercise successfully, but she found the second assignment more difficult—explaining what the text meant.  She read and reread the selected passage.  Finally, she was ready to tell the instructor what she thought the text meant.  “These words from the gospel of John help us to understand God's love toward us.  They teach us to love other people and to love Jesus Christ.  We need to follow the example of Jesus Christ,” she explained.
Natasha continues to struggle with computer exercises.  She knows that she must seek new employment soon.  She also tussles with God about His claims on her life.  However, she is finding a comfortable atmosphere at the eLearning Center where she can develop new interests in life and where people genuinely care about her.
