eLearning Centers
|
|
Our vision is to establish eLearning Centers (eLCs) in many major cities or regions in
Europe and the former Soviet Union. We have installed 16 eLearning Centers so far in
eastern Europe and Central Asia. They are being set up in both small and large population centers in the more remote regions where they are particularly needed.
If you would like to see a presentation from one of our recent eLearning
Center installation trips click here. These eLearning Centers consist of 6
to 10 computers networked together and linked to email and are being used:
-
to train missionaries, church pastors/leaders, and national workers in
eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union in computer literacy skills, including...
-
typing, basic computer
operations, and concepts
-
Windows XP, basic MSWord,
and MSOffice software
-
computer maintenance
-
email and Internet usage
and research
collaboration
software for peer and mentor support while serving in remote locations
-
using computers for
distance learning
- to provide access to computer-based learning opportunities for
pastors, church leaders, and adult believers in the areas of:
-
Bible software and Bible
reference tools
-
Bible foundations
-
Christian life
leadership skills
-
Bible school and seminary
courses
- where the eLC is located in a Bible school or seminary, to train
staff, faculty, and graduates in the development of distance learning
courses—particularly in the areas of
course design, construction, and delivery and also in mentoring/facilitation of
computer-based learning.
- to link Christian pastors and leaders who cannot come for long-term
resident studies at a Bible school or seminary with resident faculty and students
via
email.
- to develop courses and tools for evangelism and discipleship in the
language and culture of the country where the eLC is located.
- to provide opportunities for outreach and evangelism through the
provision of computer training courses to the general public.
In order to establish these eLearning Centers, we need small teams of
people with technical skills who can come to Europe for two weeks to install
computers, set up networks, and train national workers how to maintain and
manage them. If
you would be interested in leading or joining such a team, please

us! To see the latest progress on installing eLearning Centers and find
